Caliburn G2 Review

Most of vapers are not unfamiliar with Caliburn line of products by Uwell. The original Caliburn released more than two years ago was a massive seller. Not long ago they launched the refreshing Caliburn A2 and Caliburn G. And today we’re taking a look into the Caliburn G2. Caliburn G2 is similar to Caliburn A2, except that Caliburn A2 has got a locked system, which means the coil is not replaceable. Once the pod is done we basically trash the cartridge into the garbage and get a new pod cartridge. The Caliburn G series basically got a replaceable coil inside and we can replace coil for the pod when necessary.

First Impression

The Caliburn G2 is made of aluminum alloy and it has a really good looking. It’s ribbed on the sides and then smooths out in the center. On the front we got the window. It’s got a dual sided window, which is pretty cool. There’s a lot of stick pod kits that have a window on the front and no window on the back. The Caliburn G2 is dual sided window so we can easily see the level of the e-liquid. On the front we got the windows up top, and down below that we got the fire button, pretty much the same fire button as the Caliburn G, nice and clicky, very comfortable. Down below it says Caliburn. We got a little air hole on each side of the Caliburn G2. At the bottom it’s the USBC port. On top of the Caliburn G2 we got the mouthpiece, which is different than the Caliburn G. Mouthpiece on Caliburn G is a little bit more rounded, but it’s not as comfortable as Caliburn G2 in my opinion. Caliburn G2 mouthpiece is a little bit better because it kind of narrows out at the top.

Getting Started

The Caliburn G2 holds 2ml of e-lqiuid and filling it up is simple. You don’t have to take the pod out, you can just pop the mouthpiece off. It’s got a press and fill feature. Don’t put e-liquid down into the middle because that’s where your coil is. The orange area is where you fill the e-liquid through. On the other side of the cartridge it’s got a little vent hole so that the air can escape. After you fill up the cartridge, clicks the mouthpiece back into place.

The Caliburn G2 comes with a 1.2ohm coil pre-installed. It’s a brand new mesh coil and it’s supposed to give you tighter airflow. Actually the Caliburn G2 is the tightest stick pod system I’ve ever vaped on. There’s an extra 0.8ohm coil included. I personally prefer the 1.2ohm coil even though it’s higher resistance, it’s a little bit more closed off and smaller. Since it’s a little bit smaller we’re going to get a tighter hit. For a new Caliburn G2 you’re going to notice there’s a little sticker at the bottom of the pod cartridge. Just go ahead and peel it off. At the bottom we can see all the specs of the coil.

Performance

Five clicks on the fire button to turn the Caliburn G2 on. We can either auto draw or use the manual switch to vape.

There’s a wheel at the bottom side of the pod cartridge for you to adjust the airflow. The Caliburn G2 has got the most precise adjustable airflow that I’ve dealt with on any stick pod so far. You can cut the airflow down to your preferred. You can cut it down to whatever you want with the wheel. You’re not gonna get tons of airflow wide open, but you’re gonna get a nice restricted lung hit wide open and the flavor is great. Uwell are good at making some of the best coil heads.

To adjust the airflow of the Caliburn G2, just put your fingernail on the wheel and turn it. The wheel spins in 360 degree. It’s super easy to adjust it to your preferred. When you close the airflow off all the way, you cannot take a hit. There’s no air coming through the hole. The airflow is so precisely tight. Open the airflow hole just a little bit up, which is the tightest airflow I’ve gotten off a stick pod kit. It feels like a legit cigarette filter type of vape. This is the most legit MTL device I’ve gotten to date because the airflow we can freaking work it in there precisely. We can really take it down and we can take it open. I like the Caliburn G2 in mouth to lung mode and with the 1.2ohm coil it vapes great. When I’m going to be vaping on a stick pod I like that cigarette filter type of vape. But if you like primer puffs type of mtls you can do that with the Caliburn G2 too, because the airflow is precise and we can adjust it to our preferred. The adjustable airflow feature for the Caliburn G2 is fantastic, which is a huge win in my book.
