1. FDA to discuss 5-year strategic plan publicly on August 22

The FDA Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) will hold an online public hearing on August 22 for the formulation of the 5-year strategic plan. FDA will propose a proposed strategic plan around five aspects, including formulating, promoting and promoting comprehensive and influential tobacco regulations and guidelines.

2. A $800,000 illegal e-cigarettes seized in Melbourne Australia

A shop in Melbourne was raided by Australian police on Tuesday, and more than 25,000 illegal nicotine e-cigarettes and 2,500 packets of illegal tobacco products were seized, estimated to be worth nearly 800,000 Australian dollars. 3. Russia cracks down on the illegal trade of e-cigarettes, and no more than 5 unlabeled e-cigarettes can be carried

The new law stipulates that nicotine products carried by individuals must comply with the marking regulations of Russian law. Unmarked products, including e-cigarettes and heated tobacco, will be strictly limited in the amount they can be shipped. Specifically, individuals over the age of 18 can now carry and transport no more than 200 heated tobacco products. The total amount of e-liquid in atomized electronic cigarettes shall not exceed 20ml, and the number shall not exceed 5.

4. British American Tobacco enters Korean vaping market

British American Tobacco announced the launch of Vues Go 800 in South Korea on the 24th of this month. Its oil injection volume is 1.95ml (nicotine is 0.9%), the battery is 515mAh, and it supports 800 mouths. There are four flavors: Cold Fresh, Purple Breeze, Dolce Brown and Green Spark. At present, it has been sold in limited quantities in downtown Seoul on the 24th, and will be gradually promoted to the whole country.

5. British American Tobacco’s profits rose by more than 61% due to rising tobacco prices and growing demand for e-cigarettes

British American Tobacco’s financial report data show that in the six months to June 30, BAT’s operating profit increased by 61.4% to 5.94 billion pounds. In the first half of this year, its revenue rose by 4.4% to £13.44 billion. Revenue from non-combustible products (e-cigarettes, nicotine pouches, etc.) now accounted for 16.6% of total Group revenue, an increase of 180 basis points (1.8 percentage points) compared to the previous financial year.
